Japanese Occupation of Malaya

When the Japanese occupied Malaya in the 1940s, they issued stamps of their own for Malaya. This 50 Cents issue is quite rare. 50 Cents in those days was a high denomination.

I was told that used Japanese occupation stamps are valued highly as during the war days not many people could afford postal services. Therefore, used stamps are quite rare.

Straits Settlement – 1867

This is perhaps Straits Settlement’s first stamp which dates back to 1867. It was originally an Indian stamp which was adopted by Straits Settlement for a while before they printed their own stamps.
